I am creating a series highlighting the life of my ancestor, Elizabeth Ericksen Hansen.  She was a Danish Immigrant who left Denmark for America and crossed the plains as a pioneer of the American West.  She has an exceptional story which has been passed down orally through generations and told to me by my Grandmother. As I paint I seek connection with the legacy set before me, and wish to represent that we are all part of a story and a legacy that started long before we were born.  Our ancestors values, hopes and dreams build on each generation and we need to look back to understand where we want to go in the future.
